Fascinating to watch the frizzen bounce. Mine used to bounce completely back against the flint until I changed out the frizzen spring. Happens too fast to see except in these excellent high speed videos.

... too bad they didn't make the 71 in 35 Whelen ... more power and availability of .358 calibre bullets ... that action could handle the 35 Whelen calibre with no problem

You know, you shoot some AWESOME FIREARMS! And most of them have shoulder bruising mind boggling recoil, with massive amounts of energy. I don't know if you would be interested, or if THEY would be interested. But I think it would be extremely interesting if you could partner up with "The Slow-Mo Guys". I believe they reside in The United Kingdom. So it would have to be a planned trip (you know, travel visa's, airplane tickets, lodging, etc.. And they would need to line up several film topics/ locations, times, etc. to make it work out financially). I know you have some slow motion capabilities, but theirs is on the order of 3 magnitudes faster than what you can do. In my mind, it would be extremely interesting to see those huge soft slugs hitting against a 1" or maybe 2" of AR500 steel @ 500,000 frames per second. and a big chunk of hard steel ground or cut on something "like" a 120 degree (i'm not good with angles) in order to cut the slugs in half lengthwise as they spin. That would make for fantastic results. / If you, or they are not interested, at least it was an idea. // There was a time when I would have LOVED to shoot the behemoths that you shoot on your channel. But I'm pushing 70 now, and my 45-70 Govt. and 300 Win Mag are as much as I want to handle nowadays. \\\ THANK YOU for sharing these lever gun MONSTERS with us. Not many people would go to all the trouble that you do to share your passion with us!

I just picked up a new 38-55, 1/2 octagonal barrel. I'll shoot it tomorrow if it doesn't rain. Those rifles are to pretty to take out in the rain. Picked up a 32WS also, but the rifling is gone about half way down the barrel. Hard to believe that first bullet travel that far. Must have been a hard cast heat treated bullet. It stayed fairly straight and passed completely thru. "Bear gitter."

My shoulders purple from just watching that recoil.

I like that it's got a mag tube. Because you'll definitely need a follow-up shot... lol
